Thesis brief

In this project, I will explore how learning in open-source communities can be improved. For this I will do user-research (ethnography) within the context of schools (focussed on 12-16-year-old students), FabLabs (fabrication libraries) and online communities, to see how practices are today; this research will lead to an overview of the current practices with highlighted pain points. This research and the pain points will be shared with the online community around the Arduino platform. Based on the feedback from the community and stakeholders main paint points will be chosen and this will be the starting point for a (re-)design proposal. Which will be tested in various contexts.
